You have great posture!
May 21, 2008 – 10:20 pmSo, my BMI is higher than it should be. That’s not news to me. Heh, I’ve set a goal of getting it down to the “normal” level of 25. I’ve given myself 2 months to do it. I think it said I need to lose 3 pounds every two weeks. That sounds easy enough.
I only did the first set of yoga balance exercises and half of the strength exercises today. Here are my results:
deep breathing: 98 pts (yoga master)
half moon: 69 pts (yoga novice) … apparently I scored twice as high bending to the left
warrior: 75 pts (yoga trainer)
tree: 73 pts (yoga trainer)
sun salutation: 96 (yoga master)
single leg extension: 79 pts (fitness enthusiast)
pushups and side plank: 57 pts (fitness enthusiast)
torso twists: 88 pts (fitness enthusiast)
jackknife: 20 pts (couch potato)
I did most of these twice be/c I wasn’t 100% sure how to do these. I am fairly flexible, and so the yoga poses were easy, but being flexible while maintaining balance was a new twist. At least they give you something visual to check yourself. The red dot in the yellow circle works for me. What doesn’t work for me is the whistles and not being able to see the screen while doing some of the exercises. That jackknife is jacked! From the example, I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to keep my feed in the air all the time, or if I was supposed to bring them onto the board after each. Couldn’t I have just kept my feet in the air the whole time and not moved? How would it be able to calculate a score??
Anyhow, that was an entertaining first 30 minutes with the Wii Fit. I think the games will be more fun. The aerobics will probably be where the challange kicks in more.
To gauge how I’m doing, I wonder if I should continue my pseudo daily regimen of light weight lifting, or if I should only do the Wii Fit. I think I’ll do both, as long as I’m not sore, which I don’t forsee til I unlock the higher reps.
